Jenny Hamilton – Teenage Cult Leader tackles the funny, the not-so-funny, and how the not-so-funny gets funnier with time. Jenny Hamilton’s stories deep-dive into her childhood dreams and experience growing up queer in 1980's Whitehorse. With the aid of custom-designed puppets, animation and live, original music, Hamilton weaves her memories – sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking – into a comedic narrative of her life. She shares stories like the time she planned to fix the world but puberty got in the way, the time she decided to "be normal", the time she was dubbed – but never proven to be – a teenage cult leader, and the time she found her future wife and how she fought for her. Literally. Once with a baseball bat.
